Introduction

What SKOne is, the problems it solves and how its modules fit together in an Android application.

SKOne is an AI-first Android UI framework. It bundles a token-driven design system, a production-ready component library for both Jetpack Compose and XML, a schema-driven form framework, and an AI layer that treats model-backed surfaces as first-class UI.

Every artifact is published to Maven Central under a single group id and version-aligned through a BOM, so upgrading the framework is a one-line change.

Why SKOne exists

  • Design systems usually stop at Compose. SKOne ships XML parity so brownfield apps adopt it incrementally.
  • Forms are the bulk of enterprise Android work. SKOne generates them from schema instead of hand-written layouts.
  • AI surfaces need real UI contracts — streaming, tool calls, retries — not a text box bolted onto a screen.

Module map

  • skone-core — tokens, theme engine, density and locale plumbing.
  • skone-ui — Compose component library.
  • skone-xml — View-system parity components and theme overlay.
  • skone-forms — schema parsing, validation and rendering.
  • skone-ai — provider abstraction, agent runtime and AI components.
