The SKOne accessibility contract in 1.4.0-alpha01: what Compose supports, what XML supports and what is deferred.
SKOne 1.4.0-alpha01 unifies accessibility on the Compose side and documents the XML behaviour precisely. Only the capabilities listed below are supported today.
Compose
- contentDescription is supported.
- testTag is supported.
- heading semantics are supported.
- Required fields expose required/stateDescription behaviour.
- SKTextField: the primary editable node owns the relevant semantics.
- Disabled behaviour is documented and applied as described in the widget documentation.
- readOnly behaviour is documented and applied as described in the widget documentation.
- IME Next/Previous focus behaviour is documented and handled across form fields.
XML
- contentDescription is supported.
- Required fields render the visual "*" indicator.
- enabled and readOnly behaviour follow the documented widget contract.
- testTag: not currently supported / deferred.
- Full SKAccessibilityConfig parity with Compose is not available.
Not supported in this release
- XML testTag — not currently supported / deferred.
- liveRegion semantics.
- traversalIndex control.
- Full XML/Compose accessibility parity.
Foundations
- Every colour role pair meets WCAG AA contrast in light, dark and high-contrast schemes.
- Interactive components use a minimum 48dp touch target regardless of visual size.
- Animations honour the system reduced-motion setting.
